People act like plants are things. They aren’t things. Plants are aware living beings. They may not have a brain but neither does a starfish and it’s still aware in some way. Just because something isn’t like us doesn’t mean that it isn’t aware. If it grows then it probably has some type of awareness.
The plants spirit too can be just as aware as a human spirit and can cause things to happen that we are widely unaware of. People in the pagan community act like plants can just be used without any sort of consequences. Why do you think our ancestors were so big on permissions and sacred groves? Because spirits were the groves and others lived in them.
Until you’ve worked with plant spirits, you won’t understand just how dangerous they can be, especially the ones who carry..well dangerous and mind altering effects. However, just because they don’t doesn’t mean that they aren’t dangerous. In some cases they can be just as powerful as any deity. They’re connected to a whole network of other spirits who may even have connections to deities and some are actually considered deities in different cultures.
We don’t yet have full scientific proof of a physical plant being aware and conscious in the way we understand it as animals, but there’s growing evidence that plants and fungi both communicate among their own species as well as with others. I suggest having an according level of respect the next time you rip the leaf off a plant for your spell.
Plant spirits/totems/etc. are not just fuzzy glowing sparkles that have nothing better to do than teach the silly humans some stuff. We are not their primary priority–their physical counterparts are.

I am 110% percent sure that They are there in my most intimate moments.
I am 110% sure They are there when our oppressors seek to harm us.
I’m so fucking done second guessing it, I’m passed(and over) the theological debates, I’m passed wondering if the Most High made made me intrinsically flawed
God fucking loves me.
